This delicious satisfying Turkey “collagen” soup, made from Turkey legs, back bone broth, has become one of my weekly "beauty" nourishment routines! It was so easy to make. Simply soak one "big head" of white jelly mushroom then toss in your clay pot to "brew" into jelly-like texture. It is soothing, comforting, and nourishes my skin, keeps up good vibes and healthy guts... Yum!
White jelly mushrooms rich in natural vitamin D, prized for its anti–inflammatory properties and ability to soothe dry coughs. It is full of plant collagen and can hold up to 500 times its own weight in water, which can help our skin to stay hydrated and maintain a youthful appearance.
When soaked in water, the fungus expands, turns white and also takes on a wobbly and gelatin-like texture. When cooked for 2 hours, white jellymushrooms become slippery and has jelly-like texture.
How does white jelly mushrooms / or snow fungus taste like? Much like black fungus it is fairly bland, and when rehydrated then stewed or boiled it has a crunchy, gelatinous texture that absorbs and holds onto liquids.
How to cook it? The mushrooms should be soaked until it is expanded and becomes soft; Trimmed of any hard, yellow parts on the underside of the fungus and are then cut into pieces and boiled along with other flavor enhancing ingredients, I cook it with turkey parts.
