Steamed Egg for Upset Tummies

Steamed Egg for Upset Tummies

I lived in China for a few years, and while I was there I learned a few tricks that are widely known there but that I had never heard of before. I’ve also found that virtually no one here knows these tips. One such trick is when you have a sinus or tension headache (especially one at the front of your head) there are a couple of pressure points that you can use that will usually get rid of the headache in a matter of minutes, drug free.

One of the pressure points is the flesh between your thumb and forefinger. Massage it in a place that aches a little bit for 30 seconds to a minute.

¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Another good trick I learned was steamed eggs. For some reason, they are easier to digest than eggs cooked any other way. So if you or a child has an upset stomach and can‚Äôt keep anything down but is hungry, there is a good chance this will do the trick ‚Äď courtesy of your Vitaclay clay pot!

Chinese Steamed Eggs

  1. Whisk 1-2 pastured eggs and a tablespoon or two of water together with some real salt in a glass bowl. If you think it will help, add a pinch of coconut sugar to make it a little bit sweet. Pepper can be added as well.
  2. Put ¬Ĺ to ¬ĺ cup water at the bottom of the VitaClay pot.
  3. Place the bowl in the pot, and seal it up, cooking on ‚Äúsoup‚ÄĚ for about 20 minutes.
  4. The egg will be steamed and have a fluffy texture similar to custard.
  5. Try it for upset tummies or when transitioning from sickness back to eating.
