Easy-Peasy Split Peas with Leftover Bones in Just an Hour

Look! My easy split peas made in just an hour! I got the recipe from Food Network and converted it to VitaClay and I’m not disappointed with the result; it’s amazing! I added leftover bones and it gave me a tasty meal with just water and split peas itself! It can be more pleasing to your family to make it fancy soups with onion, carrots and chicken stock. Love it!

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup chopped yellow onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/8 cup good olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cups medium diced carrots (3 to 4 carrots)
  • 1 cup medium-diced red boiling potatoes, unpeeled (3 small)
  • 1 pound dried split green peas
  • 8 cups chicken stock or water

Directions:
1. In a medium sauté pan, turn on the stove on medium-high heat, sauté the onions and garlic with the olive oil, oregano, salt, and pepper until the onions are translucent, 10 to 15 minutes. Transfer to your VitaClay.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients to your Vitaclay pot and mix well.
3. Set on "soup" to cook for 1 hour or 1.5 hours.
Enjoy!
