A Soup to Restore Your "Chi" Energy Balance, the Source of Vitality

The key ingredients-

Euryale seed, also called fox nuts, tastes sweet, astringent and neutral, and is associated with the spleen and kidney meridians. Its main functions are to tonify the spleen and ease diarrhea, to strengthen the kidneys and control the (jing) our inherited vitality; and to dispel dampness (sluggish digestion, bloating, gas and edema).

Chinese dried wild yam, shan yao is used for poor appetite, fatigue or diarrhea due to spleen deficiency, for dry throat or cough due to lung deficiency. It is also beneficial for diabetes, menstrual cramps.

Lotus seed calms the nerves, promotes good night sleep, prevents memory loss.

Goji nourishes kidney, protects your eyes , prevent hair loss, Improves depression, anxiety, and sleep.

Fuling (aka poria mushroom,) often added as a gentle diuretic, has been used for loss of memory (amnesia), anxiety, restlessness, fatigue, tension, nervousness, dizziness, urination problems, fluid retention, sleep problems (insomnia), an enlarged spleen, stomach problems, diarrhea, tumors, and to control coughing.

Dried Longan fruit helps neutralizing free radicals—destructive molecules that can lead to cell aging and DNA damage.

How to cook it?

Make it savory in your soup--Add the soup packet along with your soup or chicken soup or bone broth and cook for 1-2 hours or until the seeds and roots are soft. You can drink the broth or all the ingredients when soft. 

Make it sweet soup-- you might cook it with a piece of monk fruit or add cubed pear.
