Who doesn't love a good pizza? Most of us grew up in busy households, and maybe once a week (maybe more) our parents would decide it was pizza night.
Who needs to cook when $6 pizzas are just a phone call away?
Ah, memories. And those pizzas were delicious: Soft, chewy crusts, thick cheese and amazing, fresh toppings.
Fast forward 20 years. We still love a good pizza, don't we?
But now we have dietary restrictions. Maybe the kid is gluten free. The spouse is vegetarian. The guests are lactose intolerant.
What's a pizza lover to do?
Well, the simplest solution is to make your own pizza. It's easy to buy or make crusts, and you can divvy up the slices however you want: half meat, half veggie; or make little ones so everyone can have their own specialized personal pizza.
And while we're at this making-the-pizza-at-home thing, why not make the sauce as well?
You could buy a jar of pizza sauce, but that will maybe cover one pizza and run you $4-$5. And it doesn't taste that great.
Or you could try this home-made recipe that tastes amazing, takes about 15 minutes start to finish, makes at least 3-5 pizzas, and costs less than $3. I'd say that's a deal.
You can make a big batch and freeze it in pizza-sized portions.
If you'd prefer a white sauce on your pizza, try this Alfredo sauce recipe. If you prefer a barbecue base, we've got that covered too.
So go crazy! Make pizzas! But don't compromise your health in the process.
