30 Minutes Delish Green Bean Side Dishes To Jazz Up Your Holiday With Vitaclay’s Best Slow Cooker

We’re accustomed to seeing holiday staples like roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, pecan pie, and the luscious green beans on our Thanksgiving dinner tables. It’s a meat-veggie-dessert balance that will delight you while having you appreciate the holiday spirit and ambiance with your family.

So you might want to jazz up your green strings with these finger-worthy bean recipes that everyone will surely love.Let’s go green with beans!

GREEN BEANS WITH CRANBERRIES IN YOUR FAST CROCK POT

Recipe courtesy of Food Network magazine. We modified to fit in cooking in your VitaClay Fast Slow Cooker to cook in 30 minutes or less.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds green beans
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup each dried cranberries 
  • sliced almonds
  • 1/2 cup water
  • salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. In your VitaClay pot, toss green beans with olive oil, water, salt and pepper to taste. 
  2. Set on "Stew" to cook for 20-30 minutes.
  3. At last 5 minutes of cooking, toss in dried cranberries and roasted almonds. Continue to cook for the rest of time. 

GREEN BEANS WITH BLUE CHEESE IN YOUR FAST VITACLAY SLOW COOKER 

Blue Cheese-Walnut Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 pounds green beans, trimmed
    • 1/2 cup water
      • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
        • ¼ teaspoon salt
          • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
            • ⅓ cup crumbled blue cheese
              • ⅓ cup toasted chopped walnuts 

              Directions:

              1. Cook green beans with salted water in your Vitaclay "Stew" setting, or 1 cup water on "Fast" setting for 15-20 minutes until crisp-tender.
              2. Add oil, salt and pepper to your clay pot and stirring, 1 minute more. Toss with blue cheese until well coated. Sprinkle each serving with walnuts.

              Tip: To toast chopped or sliced nuts, stir constantly in a small dry skillet over medium-low heat until fragrant and lightly browned, 2 to 4 minutes.

               

              GARLIC-PARMESAN GREEN BEANS IN YOUR FAST SLOW COOKER

              Ingredients:

              • 1 1/2 pounds green beans
              • 4 sliced garlic cloves
              • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
              • 3 tablespoons olive oil
              • shaved Parmesan cheese.

              Directions:

              1. Cook green beans with salted water in your Vitaclay "Stew" setting, or 1 cup water on "Fast" setting for 15-20 minutes until crisp-tender.
              2. In your saute pan, add sliced garlic cloves and red pepper flakes in olive oil over medium heat until golden, 1 minute (optional). Transfer to your cooked beans in your clay pot and stir in the green beans.
              3. Season with salt. Top with shaved Parmesan cheese.

               

              GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE IN MINUTES WITH VITACLAY FAST SLOW COOKER

              Ingredients:

              • 2 pounds green beans
              • 1 pound sliced button mushrooms
              • 2 tablespoons butter
              • 1 teaspoon minced garlic 
              • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
              • 1/4 cup flour
              • 1/2 cup water or chicken broth (model of 7900 or 7700), or 1 cup for model of 7800
              • kosher salt

              Directions:

              1. Add the green beans with sliced button mushrooms, butter, minced garlic, kosher salt, allspice, and 1/2 cup chicken broth or water in your VitaClay pot. Set on "Stew" setting for 30 minutes to cook until crisp-tender. (Note: for large stock pot VM7800-5, 1 cup water or broth is needed and set on on "Fast" to cook for 20- 30 minutes only)
              2. At last 5-10 minutes of cooking, add flour and whisk in cooked beans. Cover the cooker to continue to cook for 5-10 minute or until flour is cooked through.
              3. Top with canned fried onions.
