Bought this as a rice cooker in 2011 because I didn't want to have an aluminum pan. used it for only rice until 2021 when I dropped the clay lid and tried to replace it, was on back order for every then cancelled. I was thinking about getting a slow cooker when I revisited VitaClay, the replacement clay pot cost way more than what I originally paid for the
but inline with other cookers.
Since getting my new pot I have made several soups, stews and other meals, and am delighted how easy, efficient and tasty the food comes out. I've read some other reviews, I don't expect any flavor enhancement from the clay, but do believe the clay is a healthier alternative to aluminum, and the properties of the clay makes the thermal effect more efficient.
Soup is stupid easy, and a great way to get fresh veggies and grains into your diet.
