Easy Mashed Potatoes in VitaClay: Slave Over a Hot Stove No More!

Suitable for VitaClay Models VF7700, VM7900

Are you determined to make everyone’s favorite mashed potatoes for your holiday meal, but you’re dreading all of the work it entails? The steaming, the mashing, and the stirring; how do you keep it warm until it’s time to serve? Well if it isn’t already, VitaClay is about to become your new best friend!

How to Make Easy Mashed Potatoes in VitaClay:

  1. Throw your diced potatoes in with a little broth for 30 - 40 minutes and go do something else! The broth is the cooking liquid here, but it will also add flavor and nutrition to the potatoes. Nothing wrong with that!
  2. When the potatoes are nice and soft, mash them up right in the clay pot and add in your milk, butter and seasonings.
  3. Stir it up and it’s ready to eat! But the best part is you can keep it on the “warm” setting and it will stay warm for hours without burning. Or if you’ll eat within a couple hours of making them, you can turn it completely off and seal it up. It’ll be warm and ready when you are.

COOK, SERVE, STORE ALL IN ONE POT, AND SAVE YOUR CLEANUP JOBS!

You can also carry your mashed potatoes with you right in the clay pot, because the housing has a handle. So it will keep everything warm, transport it safely, and look cute when you get there. Score!
Note: If you need them to be creamy and white, of course you will use peeled potatoes. But consider adding nutrition and fiber to the dish by leaving the peels. This works especially well when using potatoes other than Russet, such as red potatoes.
