Creamy Swedish Meatballs in just 30 Minutes in VitaClay’s Best Fast Slow Cooker

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) milk
  • 35 ml cream (OPTIONAL -- makes the meatballs more tender in the center)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large clove garlic, grated or minced (OPTIONAL)
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon EACH of black pepper and ground white pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Grillkrydda OR alls pice OR all-purpose seasoning
  • 1/2 of an onion, finely chopped
  • 1 pound (500 g) ground beef (mince)
  • 1/2 pound (250 g) ground pork (mince)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh, finely chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

Gravy Sauce (OPTIONAL):

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup plain / all-purpose flour
  • 250 ml (1 cup) vegetable broth (or stock)
  • 250 ml (1 cup) beef broth (or stock)
  • 1 cup thickened (or heavy) cream*
  • 2 teaspoons regular soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to season

Directions:

  1. Roll the meatball mixture to form the meatballs 
  2. After making the meatballs, add 1/2 cup water in clay pot set for 20-30 minutes on “stew” setting. 
  3. Add the sauce to the meatballs and cook on low heat for a few minutes.
  4. Enjoy!
